Fun Wedding Reception Games

Why not up the fun at your wedding reception and keep your guest entertained with some fun games. The wedding reception is a time where the bride and groom come together with family and friends to celebrate the beginning of a new relationship. However your guests may not be familiar with each other, and even though the alcohol might be flowing, getting the guests involved in wedding reception games is a great way for breaking the ice and start an entertaining conversation and mingling. Couples nowadays are recognizing the importance of providing guests with an incredible experience, and as a result, receptions have become more than just the typical dinner and dance party.

These 5 wedding reception games will spice up the night and leave guests talking for weeks to come.

1. How well do you know the bride and groom

Make each guest guess which statement belongs to the bride and groom. Interesting way to see if they really know you.

2. Advice for the newly married couple

Why not get your guests to give you some great advice for your married life together. It is so much fun reading about it after, trust me people are pretty creative when it comes to advice!

3. What about a game of scrabble?

If your guests are tired of dancing they can have a go at the scrabble station!

4. Lawn Games

You can have a variety of lawn games at an outdoor reception. Ideas include Giant Jenga, bocce ball, croquet, mini golf, corn hole, ring toss, badminton and horse shoes.

Pine Cones used in Weddings

With their fantastic texture, long stems, and rich brown tones, pine cones can bring a real natural touch to your wedding.

Pine cones rustic look easily lends a vintage feel when combined with flowers or other vintage inspired elements, all of which makes for the perfect vintage winter wedding decor. There’s nothing more convenient than non-floral alternatives for weddings, specially if you can’t get the flowers you want in season. A pine cone wedding is very adorable if you follow the theme throughout the whole wedding.

Creative ways to ask your friends to be Bridesmaids.

They’ve been with you through thick and thin and now you’re ready to make it official, by making them a bridesmaid. Deciding on your bridal party can be like strolling through a minefield. Think before you act and tread carefully to ensure peace now, and for years to come. With friends and family anticipating or assuming they’ll be asked, it’s easy to get confused and resentful. The important thing is that whoever you choose needs to be someone you feel close to and who you want to be part of this journey with you.

Nowadays the task of asking your besties to be your bridesmaids has turned into a creative event.  Think of what the girls would like and come up with a creative way to ask your best friends to be part of your bridal party.

Ask with a card

Create a custom card with a personalized message to that particular friend. You can add photos of the two of you or even include a beautiful necklace. The whole idea is to personalize the card so your friend knows you went to a lot of effort for her. It’s a special touch.

Create a puzzle

ask your bridesmaid

Why not customize a puzzle for your friend. Give your friend the pieces of the puzzle in a box or envelope and get them to put it together. You will create excitement and an unexpected surprise.

Pop the Question

Who needs diamonds when you can have candy? Pop the question to your maids with a ring pop!

Friendship Kit

Put together a “friendship kit” for each of your girls. Fill each kit with photos and stories from your time of being friends.  Then present each of your girls with the kit and ask them to be your bridesmaid!

Unique Wedding Invitations Ideas!

Your wedding invitations set the expectations of the style, theme and formality of the occasion and influence all of your other wedding stationery.
Wedding invitations are a perfect way to share your excitement about your upcoming wedding with your guests. It is the first impression of your wedding day so spend some time looking for a wedding invitation that really reflects the wedding you are planning, and suits your theme or wedding style.

Theme: Make sure you decide on a theme for your wedding before you even start looking at wedding invitations. There are so many options out there and it is very easy to get overwhelmed and confused. Once you have a theme in mind, you will find it easy to look for the colours and styles that match your wedding theme. If you haven’t decided on a theme when ordering your invitations, I suggest you go for something neutral which will leave the doors open to match with a theme later.

Cost: Wedding invitations can get quite costly if you are not careful. Make sure you compare all your options. Get a few quotes from wedding invitation vendors as well as the online market. It all comes down to how much detail you want and how many you are after. In my experience a lot of brides forget about the cost of postage when ordering their wedding invitations, so make sure you include postage into your pricing. Remember it’s not only about the weight of the invitations; it also comes down to size.

Allow enough time: Don’t wait until last minute to order your wedding invitations as the turnaround time can be quite long if you have handmade detailed designs. If you send out save the date cards at least 5-9 months before the wedding, your guests will hold the date!

Have a bit of FUN with your wedding invitations and create something unique that your guest will remember! In the images below the bride and groom has chosen to have fun and go away from the traditional printed invitations.

Put it on a Stick

Have you noticed lately that every dessert is on a stick??? In most of my recent weddings I am finding this is the new trend. It’s a great way of eating your dessert whilst mingling with other guests I guess.

7 Important Details a Bride should NOT Forget on her Wedding Day!

Brides are so busy planning and organizing their BIG wedding they always forget some key details.

1. Remembering a pretty hanger for your dress it is a tiny detail but will look so much better in photographs. Most photographers have the classic shot with the dress hanging up before you get dresses, so make sure the hanger isn’t wire or cheap plastic. Your beautiful dress should be hanging on something amazing!

2. Eat something this is so importations and so many brides just simply forgets to eat. When getting ready in the morning of the wedding so much is happening but it is so important to eat breakfast/lunch. It is going to be a very long day and you don’t want to feel lightheaded once the champagne start popping.

3. Reserved seating signs for family up front. Remember to make sure your immediate family knows where to sit prior to the day. You don’t want your immediate family not to see you getting married as they were stuck at the back. Make it clear for everyone by having reserved signs at the front rows but also make sure you tell your family where to sit.

4. Flats for when your feet are tired. Bring some simple flats with you to the reception as your wedding day can be very long and high heels aren’t always comfortable. You can dance and walk around all night long comfortably. No one will see your shoes under the dress.

5. Someone to hold your dress when you go to the toilet. You might think this is crazy but when you have this big amazing wedding dress on…sitting on the toilet isn’t the easiest thing! Assign a toilet buddy to help out. Choose your best friend or your mum (someone you are comfortable with).

6. Assign someone to collect your Gifts. So many things are happening at the wedding and when you are saying your goodbyes you should not be worried about bringing your gifts with you. Have someone you trust collect your gifts and deliver them to you after your wedding. This way you know all your precious gift are being taken care of.

7. Enjoy the Day. So many brides are worried and stressed about things going wrong on their wedding day, they forget to be in the moment. Having someone else worry about it all for you is the best way to relax! Hire a planner to coordinate the day for you so you can Enjoy every moment of your special day!
